Alesia Tietze
Professor in Medicinal Chemistry
Alesia received her M.Sc. in Chemistry in 2008 and Ph.D. in Biochemistry in 2011 from Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Germany. After pursuing PostDocs at the University of Bonn, TU Darmstadt/Germany, and Iowa State University/USA, she established an independent research group at TU Darmstadt as a Liebig Fellow funded by the Fonds der Chemischen Industrie before being recruited as an Assistant Professor and Wallenberg Fellow to the University of Gothenburg in 2018. In March 2025, she was promoted to Professor. Professor Tietze’s research lies at the interface of medicinal chemistry, peptide science, chemical biology, and bioinspired materials. Her laboratory combines synthetic chemistry, peptide engineering, biophysics, microbiology, and nanotechnology to translate fundamental molecular discoveries into new therapeutic and diagnostic solutions.
Luisa Beyer
Post-doctoral Fellow
Luisa defended her PhD in February 2026. During her PhD studies she focused on the engineering of nature-inspired antimicrobial peptides in collaboration with Beatriz Camara Lab in Valparaiso in Chile She has spent 2 months of internship in Valparaiso/Chile in Beatriz Camara's Lab.
